POSITION: Systems Administrator LOCATION: Alpharetta, GA TYPE: CONTRACT - might go perm in the future LENGTH: 3+ months - RATE: $35-40+/hr, DOE DESCRIPTION: Our client in Alpharetta is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator/Engineer to assist with expanding their infrastructure. This is a very exciting time to join this organization as you will be instrumental in the from scratch build out of their infrastructure! You will lead in the designing, planning and implementation phases of this very visible project, ensuring best (security) practices compliancy, performance and scalability are achieved. You will build batches of Sun SPARC and x86 systems from scratch using Solaris 10 for a SAN environment with Oracle 10 /11 G RAC infrastructure. This experience is key. Configure and tune system and network parameters for optimum performance. Help develop tools to build, maintain, and monitor systems. Participate in architecture decisions. Write comprehensive documentation. Lead on storage security and various security best practices and procedures, and storage reclamation reduce overall storage costs. Ideal candidate has 5+ years experience as a UNIX/Linux Admin, recent Solaris 10 admin experience, solid experience with load balancing, VCS, Oracle ASM, storage, security and protocol experience. We are looking for a natural leader who is goal-driven, able to handle interruptions while multitasking, and who requires minimum supervision. Multiple years of experience in fast-paced high-availability production environments and a sense of urgency is key. Great business casual environment off of Windward Parkway!
