Transportation AssociateAlachua ,FLSUMMARYCheck trucks and trailers into and out of the yard using the Warehouse Management System and verify system accuracy. Perform all duties safely, accurately, and meet set productivity goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicate to and work effectively with immediate supervisor to identify and resolve any and all issues arising from yard management activities. Inspect inbound and outbound trailers for damage, seal integrity, and reefer unit status. Maintain accurate records of inbound and outbound trailer/driver activities. Oversee dedicated carrier and one-way dispatch process to insure timely departures. Monitor drop trailer program to insure all standards and compliance criteria are being met. Properly record, monitor and direct placement of drop trailers in and out of the facility. Properly record, monitor and direct placement of dedicated carrier trailers in and out of the facility. Properly record, monitor and direct placement of one-way trailers in and out of the facility. Maintain accurate yard data via the Warehouse Management System. Coordinate inbound rail receipts between railroad and the warehouse. Release empty railcars in a timely manner to eliminate demurrage expenses. Work effectively with immediate supervisor to improve processes and accuracy, and resolve any issues pertaining to the yard management process. Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work area, accuracy of yard locations, and travel lanes. Report any unsafe issues to supervisor. Observe and enforce all safety rules in an effort to prevent accidents and injuries. Perform tasks and operate appropriate equipment in a safe and orderly manner in an effort to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure that guard house equipment is maintained (daily inspection) and clean; report repair or service needs to supervisor in an effort to prevent equipment damage. Ensure guard house computers and RF equipment is used in a safe and professional manner. Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook). Comply with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e. OSHA, HACCP, AIB). Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Dispatch or routing experience helpful.
