Application Architect - Telco/Billing This position works with business units, product management, development and operations peers, to architect, design and develop innovative technical solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, price and maintanability. Responsible for the selection of suitable technologies to address business needs in addition to providing technical and project leadership for programming resources within the IS Development department. Candidates for this position will need to have deep telco billing and conferencing experience.(10 years of telco billing experience including product catalog, rating, guiding, discounting, invoicing and accounts receivable. Preferred candidate will have MetraTech experience. In addition, the ability to understand our business as well as how MetraTech implements our business logic. Qualifications ? Knowledge of and experience with a broad range of technologies, development environments and application platforms is required. ? Superior oral and written communication skills are required, in order to communicate effectively with associates, management, and clients. ? Understanding of Conferencing infrastructure and CRM procedures is preferred for conceptualization and actualization of the company's products and services. ? Demonstrated capability for working in matrixed teams on multiple projects with overlaping development cycles using multiple code bases to meet time to market objectives with quality and meeting and exceeding requirements. ? Four year degree in a Computer Science related curriculum with experience in development of Conference Call applications to facilitate joint applications design and development preferred. ? Knowledge of and experience in the following information technology methods and concepts is required: ? Relational Database design, data administration, and data architecture methodologies ? Application and information analysis and design techniques ? N-tier application development ? Software configuration and support management ? Project management ? Experience with and/or familiarity with much of the following technology is essential. ? PowerBuilder technology (v6.5 or newer) ? Java, Java J2EE (JSP, Servlet, EJB, JMS), and Java Web Components ? C/C++ development on Windows, Unix and/or Linux ? Visual Basic ? C#, VB.Net, ASP.Net and/or .Net framework ? Perl, PHP and/or Unix/Linux scripting dialects ? HTML, HTTP, XML, XSLT concepts and features ? Structured Query Language (SQL) and knowledge of the following databases: Informix, Oracle, SQL Server ? Administrative and systems development familiarity with the following operating system families: Windows, Unix (particularly Solaris), Linux, ? Administrative and development (API) familiarity with the following applications platforms: IIS, Tomcat/Apache, BEA Weblogic, SwiftMQ, Crystal Enterprise, RealServer/Windows Media Services, Portal Infranet Product and APIs, Development environments and tools, JBuilder/Eclipse, Visual Studio 6 and .Net, PVCS and like source control tools, PowerBuilder, Crystal Reports, Gnu development tools (i.e. gcc, make), ?
