The role will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyzes for total systems. You will have the following responsibilities:. Perform analyzes at all levels of total system product including: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.. Perform functional analysis, time line analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts.. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.. Work on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.. Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.. Determine and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.. Work checked through consultation and agreement with others rather than by formal review of superior.. Develop advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve critical organizational objectives and affect the image of the organization's technological capability.. Act as adviser to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.Qualifications The ideal candidate will have ten (10) years in aircraft engineering, technical planning and system integration for total systems. With an understanding of systems engineering concepts to support aircraft integration activities, including trade studies, requirements definition and management, subsystem and system-level testing, configuration management, and the development of system level documentation required for FAA or military Certification. Other requirements needed are as follows:. Proven experience in technical and leadership positions.. Strong computer, problem solving, oral and written communications skills.. Demonstrated results toward continual process/performance improvement.Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. A degree in Systems, Aeronautical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Preference may also be given to candidates with a Master's degree.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including US Citizenship, for access to classified information. Applicants must also pass an FAA flight physical and be able to fly on board military and commercial aircraft, both in country and abroad, in support of systems development and test operations.Desired Experience: Preference may be given to candidates with experience leading engineering teams in systems integration efforts, integration of communications, avionic, and SIGINT systems into a wide variety of aircraft, and airworthiness certification processes for military and commercial (FAA) aircraft.. Experience with RVSM/GATM Navigation Systems.. Detailed knowledge of USAF weapons systems and commercial systems.. Experience with providing technical oversight to major aircraft integration development subcontractors.. Experience working in a matrix management organization with an emphasis on efficiency and flexibility.. Experience working in SEI CMMI Level II, AS9100, and ISO 9001 environments is also desirable.Amount of Travel Required for Position 25%-50%
