This hands-on leadership position is directly responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department in anAcuteCareHospital. The Sous Chef will assist in supervising the preparation and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment. You may be responsible for supervising hourly kitchen employees. You may assist with employee training and scheduling of hourly cooks and hourly staff. You may assist in monitoring payroll costs & overtime and will support the culinary direction of the Chef and adhere to all brand standards. May manage the department scheduling, discipline, and/or hiring. You may work with the Executive Chef or Chef in developing new menus and recipes and may be involved with ordering. The Sous Chef usually reports directly to the Executive Chef or Chef.
