This includes all aspects of customer requirements (loading, unloading, transferring of products utilizing hand truck, dairy hook if necessary to service customer). On occasion pick up cargo, merchandise from various shippers and consignees in all weather and road conditions as described in the following: · Perform inspections of tractors and trailers before, during, and after use. Communicate all repairs needed to maintenance via Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR).· Load and unload customer products. Ensure proper straps/load bars are in place to secure product in trailer against movement while product is in transit.· Must maintain a professional image any time representing Barber’s Milk by keeping equipment clean, uncluttered and in proper daily mechanical condition utilizing Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR).· Safely perform all duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.· Pushing/moving products/merchandise as required by company and customer.· Use of “hand truck” to transfer products/merchandise as required by company and customer.· Use of dairy product “hook” (if applicable) to rotate, transfer products, merchandise as required by company and customer.· Pulling/moving of products, merchandise in company vehicles/customer locations to accommodate related needs.· Other duties may be assigned as needed.Job Requirements· Must have a high school diploma or have an equivalent GED.· Must have a minimum of two (2) years driving experience.· Must have a current Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)· Must be able to communicate effectively with company staff, customers, and law enforcement officials.· Must be able to pass and maintain a current FMCSR physical examination as described in CFR 49 part 391.· Must present and maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).· Must have the ability to apply knowledge of weight distribution and load balance to ensure loads meet all safety, physical, and legal requirements.· Must be able to lift, lower, push, and pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds, from floor level to overhead repetitively for loading and unloading product cargo.
