For more information visit www.alcon.com.Overall Job Summary:A person in this position will be required to apply measurement science, mathematics, and physics to design, document, and analyze calibration systems, procedures, and measurement and test equipment (M&TE), all within a medical device manufacturing environment. The responsibilities of this position include routine calibration of M&TE and Lab Standards, maintenance of primary, intrinsic, secondary, and working standards., development of calibration procedures and methods, applying metrology methods to the design and development of measurement systems, fixtures, and M&TE.The individual occupying this position must be able to analyze measurement data to identify abnormalities, trends, and for predicting future values. This person will develop, document, and maintain calibration systems and procedures, based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements as well as perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis of measurement standards, systems, and associated equipment.Minimum Education Requirements:Bachelors Degree - Engineering SciencesMinimum Experience Requirements:Two years experience with physical, optical, dimensional, mechanical, temperature, and electronic calibration techniques.Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:§ an excellent understanding of process equipment,§ troubleshooting skills and the ability to troubleshoot measurement systems and process equipment,§ familiarity with primary and secondary calibration standards and the associated SI units, § proficiency at reading schematics,§ excellent written and verbal communication skills,§ computer literate,§ self-directed.Our generous benefits package includes the Alcon 401(k) Plan which matches employee contributions up to 5% of eligible pay at the rate of $1.00 for each dollar contributed, and the Alcon Retirement Plan (ARP), a qualified plan in which Alcon contributes 7% of eligible pay to the accounts of all eligible employees.
