Mechanical Engineer II

Job Description: Environmental test Engineer responsible for testing/evaluation of advanced military radar systems and subsystems includingDevelopment, Implementation and Sustaining of Automated Special Test Equipment (STE) used for production test/validation in a World-Class manufacturing production environment. Tasks include; Definition and implementation of ESS testing requirements required for production sell-off for Unit level, module level and system level as required by contract. Tasks would include review and analysis of environmental screening requirements, selection of appropriate environmental equipment like temperature chambers, vibration systems, and air flow systems necessary to effectively meet the contractual testing requirements.Experience Required: 2 or more years experience in production test and measurements processes for electronic subsystems and systems utilizing modern automated test instruments and computer controlled testing systems. Candidate should have good technical grounding in thermal chamber operation and vibration systems along with data acquisition subsystems used for control and monitoring of chamber functions and performance data. Experience setting up thermal profiles for multi-cycle temp testing using industry standard programmable controllers. Candidate should have experience working with vibration systems using pneumatic or electromechanical hammers. Candidate should have theoretical knowledge and experience of fluid flow and hydraulic systems. Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) are required. Ability to interface well with other team members to achieve program driven milestones and schedules. Knowledge Desired: Must have ability to demonstrate expertise in Software applications for thermal analysis, modeling and vibration analysis. Work and/or design experience with ESS systems like Thermotron and Bemco. Experience working with PAO cooling carts is highly desirable.
