Specifically, we are seeking someone with a background in an Industrial/Manufacturing Printing environment.Position Overview:This position requires someone with strong technical expertise plus a proven ability to manage people. Reasoning, verbal and written skills are essential. A desire to constantly seek means to improve quality and/or reduce cost is also essential.This position has supervisory responsibilities.Duties and Responsibilities:The Flexographic Printing Shipping/Receiving Supervisor:* Supervises daily activities of Press Operators, Make Ready, Packers/Rewinders and Inventory personnel.* Inspects labels in order to verify conformance to specifications, and directs setup and adjustments of press operations.* Assists the Production Planner with label production scheduling and suggests alternate scheduling, where possible, for cost efficiency, as well as to achieve on-time delivery.* Interprets:* Company Policies and Procedures to workers and enforces safety regulations.* Label specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers and assigns duties.* Schedules overtime (to be approved by Plant Manager).* Recommends methods to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of labels.* Supervises and/or performs routine emergency maintenance on production equipment; ensures that adequate spare parts are available.* Analyzes and resolves work problems and/or assists workers in solving work problems.* Maintains production, efficiency, laminate waste, tool life and VOC Emissions records.* Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials.* Monitors Tab Powder, tooling and ink inventories.* Initiates:* Re-sharpening and new tooling purchase requisitions.* Or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.* Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of units.* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities also include:* Interviewing, hiring and training employees.* Planning, assigning and directing work.* Appraising performance.* Rewarding and disciplining employees.* Addressing employee, product and process complaints.* Resolving problems.This is aDirect Hireposition, throughVolt Workforce Solutions- a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in Atlanta, GA.
