The main segments served are the automotive, electrical and electronics, construction, medical, and sports and leisure industries.The primary responsibility of this role, as Developmental Plant/Process Engineer, is to provide the key technical support for the assigned production unit/s as well as evaluate and recommend corrective maintenance and engineering activities to ensure the proper operation of unit equipment. The incumbent will:* Be responsible for process design basis creation for capital projects (i.e. design packages) in the assigned unit/s;* Implement capital projects from concept phase to start-up (within constraints of scope, time, and resources);* Identify, evaluate, and develop process/facility modifications for the assigned unit/s;* Provide technical input to process safety reviews (e.g. PHA's);* Pass certification tests on select operating areas and provide relief coverage for the Production Specialists;* Implement reliability guidelines, practices and procedures;* Participate on manufacturing continuous improvement teams;* Deliver unit-specific training;* Comply with Health, Safety & Environmental requirements and Bayer Core Process standards;The selected candidate is required to possess the following:* B.S. in Chemical Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience;* Working knowledge of statistics, computer applications, process control, and unit operation principals;* Commitment to promoting a safe work environment;* Demonstrated critical thinking skills (i.e. identifying justification and relevancy, seeking underlying causes, possessing a purposeful and reflective thought process);* Demonstrated communication skills for interacting with varying levels of management and operating personnel;* Ability to motivate and lead employees.* Share weekend, holiday, and back-shift on-call coverage.Preferred Qualifications* Leadership skills demonstrated through extracurricular or community service;* Demonstrated creative problem-solving techniques and the ability to take acceptable risk.Bayer BenefitsWe offer a wide variety of competitive compensation and benefit programs.
