The Northrop Grumman National Workforce Centers are located across the United States and have a Center of Excellence (COE) focus. The locations are: * Auburn, AL * Corsicana, TX * Fairmont, WV * Helena, MT * Johnstown, PA * Lebanon, VA * Rapid City, SD Roles and Responsibilities: * Provide SQL Server or Oracle database support on Windows or Unix environments for business application systems. * Perform database maintenance tasks to support application changes and ensure integrity and efficient performance of the databases. * Typical tasks include backup, recovery, migration, space management, structural changes, and performance tuning. * Assist in the research and resolution of database problems. * Research and install DBMS software packages. * Document and improve work processes. * Provide thorough coordination with customers, application developers, customers, and other IT groups. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * AA or BS in Computer Science or an Information Technology related field, and * College level experience with relational database management systems concepts and usage, plus SQL coding. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * BS in Computer Science or an Information Technology related field * Oracle or SQL Server certifications. * Conceptual understanding of Software Development Life Cycle * Excellent communication and teamwork skills **Note: At this time, there is no relocation budgeted for this position.
