Cost Accountant

We are currently seeking a full time:COST ACCOUNTANT ? Solon, OhioPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for product costing, variance analysis, inventory reporting and fixed asset accounting.MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.Construct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system.Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems. Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses. Update bill of material standard costs.Report on breakeven points by products, work centers, and factories. Report on margins by product and division. Report on periodic variances and their causes.Analyze capital budgeting requests.Coordinate physical inventories and cycle counts.Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles. REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILL/ABILITIES:B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance required.MBA highly preferred. 2-5 years of professional experience in cost accounting preferable in a manufacturing environment.Excellent analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate with a multi-department team. Must be well organized and detail oriented.Good interpersonal skills.Strong verbal and writing skills.Self starter.Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)AS400 experience desired.MP Biomedicals environment fosters diversity, growth opportunity and continued success.
