Individual will serve as the primary adviser to a Department of Defense organization decision makers on congressional issues. Key functions include tracking and analyzing Defense related legislation, developing products that display appropriations marks and other legislative outcomes, updating congressional Member and staff lists, preparing background material for agency contacts with Members and congressional staff, and providing insights into congressional processes and actions. Basic Qualifications Applicant must be a United States citizen able to obtain a security clearance. Bachelor degree in public policy/political science (or equivalent) and 5 years of general congressional experience and 2 years of experience on Capitol Hill required. Must be knowledgeable concerning the organization and functioning of the legislative and executive branches of the government and the budget, authorization, and appropriation processes. Strong verbal, presentation, research, and writing skills and proficiency in MS Windows, Word and PowerPoint required. Other Qualifications MA in political science or related area is a plus.
