San Diego City Unified is seeking qualified applicants for the following position:<b>Classroom Teacher, Physically Handicapped </b><b>Description:</b>Requires a valid Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Physical and Health Impairments as required by Claifornia law. Must verify or be eligible to verify NCLB compliance upon entering the position. Bachelor's degree including all courses needed to meet credential requirements and experience in working with the orthopedically handicapped is required before assignment to this position. Must be able to provide an educational program for pupils whose physical limitations are severe enough to warrant unique school program adaptations. <b>Additional Job Information:</b>1. Teaches multihandicapped pupils in special day class. Assists teacher of a regular class to partially or fully integrate multihandicapped pupils into that class. 2. Develops an educational program to meet the needs of each pupil in accordance with ability and physical limitations. 3. Consults with other professionals involved with pupils. 4. Provides a program for teaching daily living skills and prevocational training where applicable.
