This position is primarily responsible for in-polymer additive testing and development in the Polymer Additives Solution Center (PASC). In addition, the incumbent is expected to contribute to plant technical support as needed.Working with the AO/UV Technology Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for innovatively evaluating and developing new polymer additive applications and conducting experiments to investigate customer processing problems. This role is primarily a practical chemistry position, requiring organic synthesis ability, analytical chemistry ability, ability to operate pilot scale plastics processing equipment, and problem solving and general analytical skills. The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker and posses a solid practical approach. They will be able to work on their own initiative as well as possessing the interpersonal skill to work as part of a wider team and interact with other company functions and with customers.Job Requirements :The successful candidate should possess a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry or a related discipline. Prior experience and/or knowledge in the development of polymer additives are a plus.Excellent communication and organizational skills; Personal computer and basic office software proficiency including MS Office suite; Self starter who can operate with minimal supervision; Excellent team player. This role is primarily a practical chemistry position, requiring organic synthesis ability, analytical chemistry ability, ability to operate pilot scale plastics processing equipment, and problem solving and general analytical skills.
