Job Description: This position is located at our Distribution Center in Aberdeen, MD. As a member of the leadership team, this growth-oriented position reports to the DC Operations Manager and offers great opportunity for advancement! The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership to our team of Material Handlers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Thought Leadership - Supports implementation of world-class best practices to create a competitive advantage. - Maintains a passion for customer service and is proactive in improving customer satisfaction. - Successfully supports ongoing change within DC. - Analyzes information and uses appropriate judgment to achieve expected results. - Builds relationships with management team within local DC, Corporate, and Field partners, in order to execute strategies. Results Leadership - Leads DC Associates within department(s) in achieving aggressive goals and objectives as outlined in the Key Performance Indicators (KPI s) of Safety, Service, Quality and Cost. - Plans and executes strategies to deliver expected results. - Responsible for the financial performance of the assigned department(s) within the DC, to include monitoring appropriate staffing levels, reducing damages and controlling supply costs. - Execution of daily and weekly objectives. - Creates a performance-based culture. - Manages process improvements to increase efficiencies. - Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. - Supports an effective Safety program emphasizing employee involvement and training. - Protects company assets through the proper maintenance of company equipment. People Leadership - Selects, trains, motivates and develops associates to maximize performance. - Prepares and administers both verbal and written feedback to associates, which includes performance reviews, corrective actions and recognition. - Continually mentors and motivates team around continuous improvement and development of a performance culture. - Engages team to ensure a high level of associate involvement and continually looks for ways to develop team and self. - Assesses talent of associates and provides feedback for career planning goals and developmental plans. - Delegates responsibilities to associates and administrative staff. - Recognized as a leader that accepts feedback and continually looks for ways to develop self. Job Requirements: Requirements - Must be able to analyze information and use appropriate judgment, to achieve expected results. - Must possess good leadership and communication skills. - Able to develop talent within the DC. - Adheres to company policies as defined in DC Associate Handbook including the Code of Conduct. - Regular on-time attendance. - Ability to work more than 40 hours per week based on business needs. - Ability to work as scheduled, including weekends, evenings and holidays. - Ability to travel as required (DC Network meetings or for other special projects). - Any other tasks as assigned Education/Experience - Bachelor's Degree in related disciplines such as Logistics/Supply Chain, Business, Retail Management or equivalent experience. - 3 plus years experience in a Leadership Role. - Experience in Transportation/Distribution/Supply Chain Management/WMS/Labor Management a PLUS!
